Maison des Migrations (MaMi), Rennes — a day of workshops, association stands and shared tables around the welcome of newly arrived people, where we held a stand.

Saturday 10 October 2026
On Saturday 10 October 2026 we took part in Les Rencontres de l'hospitalité, at the Maison des Migrations (MaMi) in Rennes — a day organised by Rennes Ville et Métropole, in partnership with the AGIR programme, as part of the Semaine de l'intégration.
Around tables laden with dishes from many kitchens, the participants met in a warm atmosphere that invited conversation and discovery. Beyond the shared food, what met there were stories, experiences and shared values .
Our stand presented our four missions and the books published by the association, with a signing and time to talk with visitors.
Through the day
From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., four activities ran continuously, led by the Rennes associations present. Le Prix des Promesses d'Exil did not organise the day: we took part because it meets our mission of raising awareness.

La Cimade's game “parcours de migrant·es” invited players to follow the journey of someone who leaves their country, takes the road to France and tries to (re)build a life there.

A workshop led by the association J'accueille, with testimonies, to understand what is at stake in housing and the ways of hosting someone at home, at work or elsewhere.
The day ended with a forum-theatre performance by the Compagnie Naje, on access to rights for newly arrived people and the fight against discrimination, performed with the people concerned, members of the Conseil de l'Hospitalité of Rennes Ville et Métropole and of the AGIR programme.
What we take from it
Such initiatives bring people closer and give the values of hospitality a concrete life. They remind us that welcome is not a single gesture: it is built day after day, through listening, through respect for others, and through the will to make room for every person, whatever their origin or their journey.
For Le Prix des Promesses d'Exil, these gatherings have a particular resonance. Our association holds the conviction that every migrant deserves to be welcomed with dignity, that every life story deserves to be heard, and that solidarity must take the form of concrete acts.
In a climate where migration is too often reduced to figures, these moments of encounter recall something self-evident: behind every journey there is a person, a story, hopes and a shared humanity.
Hospitality is far more than a word: it is a commitment.

And now
It is together that we can push back prejudice and build real solidarity. There are several ways of taking part.
Thank you
Thank you to Laura, who organises the association's events and held our stand throughout the day. Thank you to the Maison des Migrations and to Rennes Ville et Métropole for their welcome, to the associations present for the quality of the exchanges, and to everyone who helped make the day a time of sharing.
Hospitality begins when we take the time to meet one another and to listen.
